The Stevens Creek Corridor Steering Committee has been formed to provide a forum for multi-jurisdictional elected representatives to meet, discuss and provide direction on a common vision for the Stevens Creek Corridor.
In August 2017, San Jose City Council approved forming a multi-jurisdiction working group comprised of San Jose, Cupertino, Santa Clara, and Santa Clara County representatives to discuss key regional issues affecting West San Jose, with a focus on transportation and circulation. Since then, the City of San Jose Department of Transportation staff has been working with the City of Santa Clara, City of Cupertino, and Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) regarding transportation along the Stevens Creek Boulevard and discussing how to coordinate streetscape improvements to improve bicycle and pedestrian circulation along this corridor, as well as meet the need for high-capacity transit.
In 2019, the Cities of Cupertino, San Jose, Santa Clara, and Santa Clara County all passed resolutions formalizing interest in creating a common vision for high capacity transit along the Stevens Creek Corridor that will improve mobility and its interrelationship with walking, biking, placemaking, and enhancing the quality of life for all of our community members in a seamless manner.
