Community and Economic Development
The Community and Economic Development Committee works to ensure that San José has a strong economy, diverse range of arts, cultural and entertainment offerings, and healthy neighborhoods.

Public Safety, Finance and Strategic Support (Vice-Chair)
The Public Safety, Finance and Strategic Support Committee is charged with ensuring that City services, including emergency response services for crime, fire, medical, hazardous and disaster related situations, meet the needs of residents. In turn, the Public Safety, Finance and Strategic Support Committee oversees all of the requirements of satisfactory City services—including fiscal, technological, and physical necessities.

Rules and Open Government
The Rules and Open Government Committee sets the Council Agenda, assigns items to the other Council Committee agendas, appoints commissioners to non-judicial City Commissions, and is responsible for supervising the accessibility, responsiveness, transparency, and accountability of government in San José.
