With the launch of the new City smartphone app My San Jose, my office will be preparing to retire our own app Mobile City Hall. 8 years ago, the District 1 office launched the Mobile City Hall app to empower residents to report issues directly to City Hall in real time from their smartphones. My staff handled more than 1900 requests through the app last year alone.
The new My San Jose app addresses 5 common issues: potholes, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, streetlight outages, and illegal dumping. Additional issues will be added to the app in the coming months. I am excited to see the City adopt this robust application model and integrate it throughout each department. I hope you will provide the City and our office feedback during the adoption of this application.
